En Edad&Vida has the ultimate goal of contributing with its activities to the improvement of the elderly's quality of life. We are aware of the fact that in order to reach this goal it is necessary to act in a variety of fields both social and economic, as well as getting all the parts present in the world of the elders involved in these actions. For this reason, the Institute acts as a fomenter for both the concerns of the civil society and those of the business world, and we want to cooperate closely with the public administration in the efficient response to the challenges of a population which is aging but is in good health and has an increased life expectancy.

From its beginnings, Edad&Vida has been promoted by a group of companies coming from different domains of the economy, which wish to participate in the joint actions that will respond to the opportunities and problems linked to the population aging process. In this regard, our transversality condition sets Edad&Vida as a unique and innovative institution in Spain. The group of firms belonging to the association are brought together in the figure of the Founding Member. The Founding Members contribute to the Institute's economic sustainability and, through the Board of Directors, they design the strategic course of action of the association combining the concerns and interests of the society with those of the corporate sector.

Edad&Vida works on behalf and for the senior citizens, with respect and honesty. For this reason, we keep an open dialogue and a close cooperation with the third age associations, who for their part guide us through the identification of work lines which respond to their expectations and their social demands. Edad&Vida also promotes the generation of knowledge with the aim of making available solid dialogue tools from a technical and scientific point of view. With this aim, we work together with Universities, Research and Training Centers. In fact, it is these institutions who primarily carry out the scientific and technical works identified by Edad&Vida as prioritary to give support to our dialogue with the public administration. This constant interaction between Edad&Vida and the civil society has been formally expressed in the articles of the association as the figure of the Contributor Member, falling into this category the Associations of Elderly People, Universities and Research and Training Centers, and the Scientific Societies.
